THYME MOBILE APP DESIGN - School Project
Thyme is a fictional app for women during the late 19th century to schedule and attend rallies supporting women's suffrage.
Plants and flowers were very symbolic during the 19th century. For example, a person in the 1800s might use a bouquet of flowers to tell another person that they are in love with them. "Thyme" has a symbolic meaning of courage and strength. With this in mind, I chose the name to tie into that practice (using flowers as conversations), drawing a deeper meaning, while also promoting secrecy (so women would not got arrested for using the app).
Lastly, I chose to have the app be password protected with a "word of mouth" password to keep the app secretive. For each person's profile, each woman is given a flower to represent them. This idea was developed to further keep the anonymity on the app.
